Something Blue: Inspiring blue wedding decor at Roma Street Park

The happy couple, Caroline and Dan, recently tied the knot at the beautiful City View Saddle lawn at Roma Street Parkland in Brisbane and we are so excited to share their ceremony with soft blue wedding decor with you.

How to make your wedding day truly yours

This happy couple switched things up a little, making their wedding unique to them with a strong emphasis on ensuring the entire day would be thoroughly enjoyed by all their guests.

Here’s some of what they did differently making their wedding day truly ‘them’.

Unique wedding ceremony backdrop:

Their ceremony décor included our gorgeous gold hexagonal arbour adorned with soft blue dried florals, including fluffy clouds of baby blue hydrangeas.

Instead of having their ceremony with the tree in the backdrop, they opted for the city skyline instead. This created a stunning and unforgettable backdrop for their special ceremony.

The gorgeous ceremony setup looked absolutely stunning against the backdrop of the city skyline.

No wedding party:

Another aspect of their wedding was that they didn’t have a wedding party. They felt that this wasn’t necessary and that they wanted all of their guests to feel equally involved in their special day.

Ensuring guests were comfortable with chairs for everyone and celebratory drinks:

The couple made sure that all their guests were super comfortable and could really enjoy the day, by making sure there were enough chairs for all guests to be seated, and also having our drinks bar with ice filled drink tubs, to provide their guests with refreshing celebratory drinks at the stunning lawn.

Arrived and walked down the aisle together:

The happy couple arrived and walked down the aisle to the enthusiastic cheers of their guests, led by their amazing Celebrant, Jamie Eastgate of Brisbane City Celebrants, who thoughtfully also wore soft blue to coordinate with the couples wedding colours.

Booking a really good, highly rated Celebrant that can expertly design and deliver a really enjoyable, happy and engaging ceremony:

The ceremony was absolutely perfect!  Celebrant Jamie Eastgate did an incredible job from designing and writing with the couples’ input, a happy engaging wedding ceremony. Amping up the crowd before the ceremony, and having the guests engaged, grinning from ear to ear with a good dose of belly laughs during the ceremony. Seeing the heartfelt smiles on guests faces throughout the ceremony shows how much they all enjoyed it.

Cocktail hour celebratory drinks:

After the ceremony, instead of being whisked straight off for photos with their Photographer, the couple made the most of this precious time with their guests, with the convenience of our drinks bar, they all enjoyed celebratory drinks.

Convoy by foot to the nearby reception:

Following a couple of refreshing drinks and many (many) belly laughs, everyone headed off in convoy led by the bride and groom. Taking a short stroll through the beautiful Roma Street Parkland to their onsite reception venue, The Garden Room.

Valuing time with guests – super quick photos:

Wanting to share as much time as possible with their guests, instead of heading off for hours of photos, the couple joined their lovely Photographer Lara Furst for some quick but amazing photos, before joining their guests for the evening celebrations.
