Kangaroo Point has some gorgeous wedding ceremony locations. Being across the river from the City gives Kangaroo Point the convenience of being centrally located, with the tranquility of the river frontage and beautiful parks. Here we share some of our favourite Kangaroo Point wedding parks with you.
River View – Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park – Lower River Terrace Weddings
The Lower River Terrace – Kangaroo Cliffs Park wedding sites are located at the foot of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, just along from the rock climbers with absolute river frontage and city views.
The River View sites provides a stunning riverside wedding backdrop to the city. The areas are well suited to both small, medium and larger groups of guests, and more than one lawn can be booked to accommodate a ceremony on one lawn, followed by post ceremony refreshments or wedding cocktail hour on an adjacent lawn.
The designated booking sites are separated by bushes and can be booked through Brisbane City Council.

Elopement wedding ceremony at Lower River Terrace
Our couple opted for a simple and elegant setting at a spot that was special to them in Kangaroo Point, with the Brisbane river in the backdrop.

The City Skyline Outlook at the Kangaroo Cliffs Park on River Terrace (a short stroll along from the Cafe) is another breath taking and less known about Kangaroo Point wedding site.
Located on a highly elevated corner on top of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, the City Skyline Outlook boasts sweeping views of the Brisbane river, the lush tree canopy of Brisbane’s City Botanic Gardens, through to the towering buildings in the CBD, giving the backdrop an urban edge.
We love the contrast of our chic white wedding set up against the Brisbane City backdrop, pictured here with blooming jacaranda trees.

Note: This park is currently closed for park bookings while construction of the green bridge takes place. Expected to reopen to park bookings on 2025.
With the Story Bridge and Brisbane’s winding river in the backdrop, weddings don’t get much more ‘Brisbane’ than Captain Burke Park in Kangaroo Point.
Quieter than many of Brisbane’s inner city parks, with a large spacious grassed area, Captain Burke Park has several shade providing poinciana trees of varying ages, dotted throughout the park and along the riverside.
We love the bridge backdrop at Captain Burke Park for wedding ceremonies.
Our white circular wedding arbour also works perfectly at this location, creating contrast with the parks backdrop and framing you perfectly as you share all the special moments of your ceremony together.
