We loved creating the setting for this gorgeous Harry Oakman Pavilion wedding. Along with their guests, our couple had the most amazing day!
Cathy and Luke’s love story began many years prior with sweet picnic dates at Roma Street Parkland, a breathtaking oasis in the heart of Brisbane City. When it came to getting married, they knew they just had to wed at the same beautiful special place where those early memories together were made.
With the decision to hold their ceremony at Roma Street Parkland, the couple thoughtfully planned every detail of their wedding to create an unforgettable experience. Their vision included a chic wooden arbour, adorned with vibrant fresh flowers by their Florist. To add to the celebratory atmosphere, our wooden top bar tables and stools were added alongside ice-filled drink tubs, for elegant cocktail hour drinks and nibbles.
As their wedding day drew near, nature had its own plans. The weather forecast predicted not just rain, but potential storms.
Fortunately for them, Roma Street Parkland has one of Brisbane’s finest wet weather options – the Harry Oakman Pavilion, which became their saving grace. The ceremony location was changed from the original nearby City View Saddle lawn to the spacious sheltered pavilion.
Overcoming the forces of nature these two put their wet weather plan in to action, and everything came together perfectly!
We transformed the pavilion to a stunning ceremony setting. Carefully positioning our chic wooden arbour to maximise the lush greenery backdrop, bringing the couples vision of their parkland setting to life.
Regardless of the rain, their wedding was breathtaking! Glowing with happiness they exchanged vows framed by our chic wooden arbour under the sheltering pavilion.
While it’s very rare that couples’ weddings ever need to be moved to the wet weather option, Cathy and Luke’s wedding day is a testament to the fact that rain cannot dampen the celebration of love.
After the ceremony the happy newlyweds along with their wedding party wandered around the beautiful Roma Street Parklands for some photos, embracing the showers, made it even more fun!
This wedding at Roma Street Parkland is a refreshing reminder that weddings, much like life itself, are meant to be lived in the moment, no matter the weather. Congratulations to the newlyweds, and may their journey together be as beautiful and resilient as their wedding day.
