We loved creating the ceremony setup for this elegant garden wedding at Roma Street Parkland. Seeing how happy Kailey and William are here you wouldn’t know they had to switch their ceremony venue just 2 days before their wedding.
Having originally booked a different Brisbane park for their wedding ceremony to take place at, Kailey was advised by the council, that an unauthorised protest had been planned which may possibly be taking place close to their wedding.
We had a chat on the phone and I ran through some alternative options if she decided to relocate, and I even touched base with the Event Executive at Roma Street Park to check availability.
Being the ultimate chilled bride aka a bridechilla, Kailey was pretty unphased and even saw the funny side of a potential group walking past cheering, so she initially decided to keep her ceremony at her original location. Until a couple of days before the day when the council got back in touch to say they have been advised the unauthorised protest was now expecting 20,000 people! Eek!
I received a message to urgently contact Kailey who shared the update with me and we raced to put plan b in to place, moving the ceremony to the beautiful Sunset Glade ceremony lawn at Roma Street Parkland.
The events team at Roma Street Parkland were amazingly accommodating and helpful, taking the booking at such short notice, keeping our bridechilla cool.
Following the last minute change of ceremony venue, everything came together so perfectly! It was such a beautiful day, the lawn was perfectly shaded, now just a short 5 minute walk to their reception venue, and thankfully not a single protester to be seen or heard!
The ceremony began with Kailey arriving and walking half way down the aisle, then Will met her halfway, so they could walk down the aisle together. A modern take on the traditional arrival of the bride which worked perfectly.
Our couple added some additional guest chairs closer to their date when they knew their final guest numbers, so all their guests could be seated for their ceremony.
We love how our luxe white circular wedding arbour perfectly frames them with the lush greenery of Roma Street Park in the backdrop. Congratulations to the happy newlyweds. We couldn’t be happier that everything worked out so perfectly.
