This dreamy Newstead Rotunda wedding took place on a beautiful October day, with a clear blue sky, the sun shining and a cool river breeze it was absolutely perfect!

Our team at With Love provided and set up the ceremony decor with a soft blue theme complementing the breathtaking backdrop surrounding the rotunda.

To enhance the natural beauty of the rotunda, the couple opted for white draping on the back of the structure. This simple but elegant touch perfectly framed the blue river behind, creating a clean, sophisticated backdrop for their “I Dos.”
The Styling: Soft & Dusky Blue Tones
The couple’s vision was a palette of soft blue and neutrals, which looked stunning against the riverside setting.
-
Beautiful Rotunda Package: We used our signature white plinths with dried florals in shades of neutral and soft blue for a cohesive look.

- Our Hampton style drinks bar was provided for the couple’s own celebratory drinks, so everyone could stay and enjoy cocktail hour celebrations at the beautiful Newstead Park.

-
‘Beautiful Bubbles’ table and sign were also added, with bubbles being a great sustainable alterative to confetti.

-
Personal Touches: To make the park feel truly their own, the couple organised a custom fabric sign (you can find these on Etsy) placed over the park signage, a clever way to personalise the space!

Riverside Elegance at Newstead Rotunda
Newstead Rotunda is one of Brisbane’s most iconic ceremony locations. The long pathway creates a stunning aisle entrance, lined with palm trees.

HOT TIP for Wedding Bubbles: If you are providing your own bubbles for guests, here is an expert tip that we do for all our weddings: Remove that fiddly plastic wrapping from the seals beforehand. It prevents guests from struggling with removing tricky wrappers during the ceremony, so instead their bubbles will be ready to release right on cue; and importantly, this also keeps the park litter-free!
A VIP Guest: Daisy the Dog
As devoted puppy pawrents ourselves, at With Love, we adore a dog-friendly wedding venue! The couple’s sweet dog Daisy was a special part of the celebrations.
Newstead Park is a fantastic choice if you’d love your furry friend by your side.

Pro Tip: If you’re bringing your dog to your ceremony, ensure they are toilet trained and have a designated ‘human’ handler to keep them comfortable so you can focus on your vows! The handler can also be responsible for taking them home after the ceremony and photos, so you can be in the moment and enjoy the day.

The Celebration: Bubbles and Bubbles!
After being pronounced husband and wife, the couple made their way back up the aisle as guests showered them in bubbles. It was a sweet moment that led straight into relaxed cocktail hour celebrations on the lawn. Guests enjoyed champagne, beer, and soft drinks from our beautifully styled Hampton style bar.

Did You Know? The History of Newstead Rotunda
When you choose Newstead Rotunda for your wedding, you aren’t just picking a beautiful view. you’re sharing in Brisbane’s history!
-
Edwardian Elegance: The rotunda was built in 1915 (0ver 110 years ago) and is a classic example of Edwardian-style architecture. This style is known for its light, airy feel and decorative charm, which is exactly why it remains one of the most sought-after spots for an elegant outdoor Brisbane wedding today.
-
Over a Century of Love: It was constructed during a period of “city beautification” in Brisbane, designed to be a focal point for the community to gather and enjoy the river breeze.
-
A Sister Structure: It was built around the same time as the well-known rotunda at New Farm Park. Both share that iconic architectural heritage that has made them timeless favourites for Brisbane couples for over 110 years.
-
Heritage Charm: Standing under the rotunda means standing in one of the city’s most significant heritage parks, offering a sense of permanent elegance that modern venues often try to replicate.
