Area 1 – Palm Tree Lawn
Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Palm Tree Lawn is a popular choice for wedding ceremonies and post ceremony cocktail hour celebrations. Surrounded by lush greenery providing privacy by nature.

Wedding Chairs: When you book a wedding lawn at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, they include 20 chairs (18 guest chairs, 2 signing table chairs) with your booking. So for our Mt Coot-tha couples we customise a ceremony setup package with an arbour, wedding aisle, signing table, additional guest chairs if required and your choice of additional ceremony decor.
Lawn Bookings: You can book your choice of lawn at Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens through Brisbane City Council for your exclusive use on the day.
Our white americana wedding chairs blend seamlessly with the chairs provided by Mt Coot-tha.

The bamboo backdrop is an alternative and equally beautiful spot within the Palm Tree Lawn for wedding ceremonies. Pictured here with our gloss white curved arch.
With 100 guests attending their Palm Tree Lawn wedding, this couple added additional chairs, so a total of 40 guests could be seated with 60 guests standing, and there was still plenty of space on the lawn had more guests been attending.

Garden party & cocktail hour celebrations
Why not make the most of this beautiful ceremony lawn by celebrating with a garden party style cocktail hour after your ceremony. Some of our couples have chosen to forego a sit-down meal at a venue and instead have an all-in-one wedding ceremony and cocktail style reception at the gorgeous and private Palm Tree lawn.
We can provide our beautifully presented ice filled metal drink tubs and/ or our chic Hampton style bar for your celebratory drinks and our cocktail hour bar tables and stools are always a huge hit!
We’re seeing more couples making the most of the beautiful Palm Tree Lawn and choosing to have an ‘all in one’ ceremony and reception, with relaxed and enjoyable cocktail style celebrations taking place on the lawn, instead of heading off elsewhere. This ceremony venue works perfectly for this concept.
While the bamboo backdrop above is a popular choice for the backdrop at Palm Tree Lawn, there is also the option to have the ceremony on the circular paved area.

Area 2 – Exotic Rain forest – Fig Tree Lawn
The Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens Fig Tree Lawn features a beautiful old Fig tree providing a stunning backdrop and shade for wedding ceremonies.
This spacious lawn is well suited to those with a large number of wedding guests.

The following Fig Tree Lawn wedding at Mt Coot-tha opted to have a total of 100 guest chairs, so all their guests could be comfortably seated for the ceremony.
With 20 chairs supplied by Mt Coot-tha within the lawn booking, we provided a further 80 guest chairs + 2 signing table chairs with our luxe white circular arbour.
Small weddings and elopements are also well suited to this lawn, pictured beneath the beautiful fig tree our luxe white circular arbour.

Just past the other 2 wedding lawns, on a quiet footpath is the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Lychee Lawn, this lawn is surrounded by tall trees and lush greenery.

The Bandstand – Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens wet weather option
If you have booked one of Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens designated wedding lawns for your wedding, and rain is potentially forecast this area may potentially be your wet weather option.

With 40 x guest chairs at the above wedding, and plenty of space for more, this area comfortably fits and shelters a good number of guests and is also well suited for post ceremony cocktail hour drinks and nibbles.
Bush Chapel at J.C Slaughter Falls, Mt Coot-tha Reserve
We are particularly fond of the private and somewhat secret Bush Chapel at Mt Coot-tha. This designated site that can be booked through the council. and offers privacy and tranquility.
Well and truly off the beaten track this hidden gem is located just a short walk up a footpath in Mt Coot-tha Forest. This outdoor chapel offers a woodland setting with log seating.

The area has built in log seating and is perfect for weddings and elopements with a small number of guests.
